UVS ‘AGM’ 2020

Dear Members and Friends,

Our Online AGM begins at 11am today, with a Requiem Mass for deceased members of UVS, offered by Fr O’Connor. This will be broadcast live on Facebook here.

Following the Requiem Mass at 12 noon will be our Online AGM, featuring a welcome from Cardinal Burke, Keynote Speech from Bishop Schneider and the Chairman’s Report. This will “go live” at 12 noon on Youtube.

We hope you will be able to join us either live, or watching later. Please feel free to share these links on your social media.

Additionally, we are saddened to inform our members and friends of the death of Kathleen Fraser. She died on Thursday 12th November, surrounded by her family. Kathleen was a Life Member of UVS and the widow of the late Hamish Fraser, also a member of UVS and a great promoter of Traditional Catholicism. Please remember Kathleen in your prayers, along with Hamish and all the deceased members of UVS.

All Saints Costume Challenge!

Due to the restrictions in place, we are unable to have our usual Saints and Angels parties around All Saints’ Day.

This year we invite all children  to dress as their favourite saints on All Saints’ Day- Sunday 1st of November.

Why not post your pictures on the UVS Facebook page to celebrate the great feast and to let other children around the country see one another!

Please ask your priest to publicise this and let’s see our communities across the country joining in celebration and devotion!

2020 Online ‘AGM’

Due to the restrictions on public gatherings, we will be unable to hold an AGM this year. We will however be holding an online event on Saturday 14th of November. The day will begin with our annual Requiem Mass offered for the repose of the sous of or deceased members at 11am, offered by Fr Liam O’Connor on his parish Facebook page. Following this the Una Voce Scotland Facebook page will host a pre-recorded set of talks including a round-up of the year from the chairman and greetings from His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke and His Excellency Bishop Athanasius Schneider.

Please note that both Facebook pages are public and one does not require a Facebook account to view them. Please see the poster for full details.

Event: Sung Mass in Johnstone

We are very pleased to announce that UVS is organising a Missa Cantata in the Diocese of Paisley. At 12 noon on the 22nd of February, the feast of the Chair of St Peter, with the blessing of Bishop Keenan, Fr Byrne of St Brigid’s Toryglen will offer a sung Mass. The music will be provided by Schola Una Voce.

We are grateful to Fr Brady, Parish Priest of St Margaret’s Johnstone for inviting us.

Please spread the word and support this Mass. The Diocese of Paisley is currently the only diocese in Scotland without a regular Traditional Latin Mass.

Event: Epiphany Compline in Riddrie

We are delighted that the men of Schola Una Voce will be singing the office of Compline in the feast of the Epiphany 2020. We are pleased to promote the traditional liturgy and Gregorian chant around Glasgow.

Please spread the word and support the service if you can.
